2027 Ignite by 4-H Workshop Application

Ignite by 4-H, an interactive teen summit, returns in 2027 to Washington, D.C. featuring four days of inspiring and engaging content, respected speakers, workshop sessions and amazing connections. The summit provides students the opportunity to explore the best 4-H has to offer in Agriscience, Animal Science, Civic Engagement, Community Accelerators, Healthy Living, STEM and Career & Life Readiness.

Workshop Length: 45 minutes
Target audience: Youth, grades 9–12
Recommendations:
- Teen led workshops for peer-to-peer learning and skill development
- Inclusion of a hands-on activity
- Handouts or workshop outlines for participants to take home and recreate
- Objectives focused on skill development or long-term impact

Workshop topics we'd love to see:
- Ag/Animal Science: (pollinators, aquaculture, vet science, equine)
- Career Skills and Opportunities (Resume/LinkedIn building, entrepreneurship, AI & emerging careers, professionalism and workplace etiquette)
- Civic Engagement and Community Accelerators (government relations/public policy, leadership development, social intelligence, dialogue & discourse, local advocacy and organization tools)
- Creative Arts (performing arts, visual arts, arts therapy, sewing/fashion, photography/videography, design)
- Healthy Living (physical fitness, nutrition, personal health, stress management)
- Life Skills (financial literacy, home & car maintenance, exploring post-secondary options, growth mindset, conflict resolution)
- STEM (AI, medical science, forensics, robotics, engineering, coding)

Benefits:
- If selected to present, you will receive (2) registrations.
- Registrations cover room and board.
- You are responsible for all travel and transportation expenses to/from Ignite. Consult your State Program Leader regarding any restrictions or requirements that may apply in terms of travel fees and chaperones.
- You are also responsible for workshop-related materials such as handouts, activity supplies or other presentation items. AV equipment, tables and chairs will be provided as specified below.

Preferred Max # of Participants per session

Workshops should be designed to host a minimum of 22 participants per session and a maximum of 60 participants per session. Exceptions may be considered for larger groups if the workshop includes movement-based activities such as dance, yoga, or similar.

Workshop Skill Level

Beginner-friendly: No experience or prior knowledge required.
Some experience needed: A basic understanding of the topic is recommended.
